Sessions last 50 minutes.
Your sessions will take place once or twice per week at a regular time slot unless we reach a different agreement.
The duration of the therapeutic process will depend on the issue you are working on. Having agreed to begin our work together, we will review this periodically.
I work with individuals who are over 18 years old.
Appointments are generally scheduled Tuesday through Friday. I offer in-person sessions at my psychotherapy office in the centre of Málaga, and online appointments through Zoom, Google meet or Whereby.
Emailing or messaging is restricted to making arrangements; the content of your therapy can only be processed during sessions.
Counselling is a commitment of work between clients and counsellor. Please be ready to start on time and let me know if you are going to be delayed. Your sessions will end on time regardless of late arrivals.
Whenever it is possible, allow yourself a few minutes to disconnect from other activities and focus on the work you want to do before you arrive for your sessions.
Please do not drink alcohol or use, prior to our sessions, any substances which might affect your normal thinking and behaviour.
Please do not bring coffee and food with you into the consulting room.
Individual session: 55 euros per session
Couples/ Two people: 75 euros per session
Group sessions: please enquire
I have a few concessionary spaces where I offer a discounted fee for students and the unemployed. If that applies to you, please check with me if there are spaces available.
I cannot currently process credit card payments. Please bring cash or I will provide you with my bank account details for bank transfers.
When we arrange online sessions, I will send you a payment request before your scheduled session, through Paypal, Wise or bank transfer.
I do not bill or accept third party payments from insurance carriers. At your request, I can provide you with a billing statement, which you may submit to your insurance carrier. Please check their reimbursement policy with them.
The consistency and continuity of weekly sessions is very important for our work to be effective. If you let me know, with a minimum of 24 hours’ notice, that a problem has come up, I will do my best to reschedule your session to another day, preferably in the same week, depending on both our availability.
If the need arises for cancelling a session, fees for cancellations are as follows:
Over one week before appointment time no cancellation fee
Less than one week but more than 24 hours 50% of session fee
Less than 24 hours’ notice full session fee
Please note that cancellation fees are required to be paid before your next scheduled session.
From my part, I will always aim to give you as much notice as possible of any holidays, conferences or illness which might affect scheduled sessions. Where this occurs, you will be offered an alternativeappointment when possible.
I take approximately 10-12 weeks break per year and I give plenty of notice of those breaks and changes to them.
In my way of working, the therapeutic relationship (between client and therapist) has a central focus. I take on clients on the basis that once a course of therapy has begun, the relationship can only be terminated by either party in a session and not by phone, email or text.
When you consider ending your therapy sessions, please give me at least a week’s notice, so we can process the ending. Processing an ending provides opportunity to review the work done, celebrate achievements, consider on-going support and properly say goodbye.
What we talk about in sessions is totally confidential.
Because of my duty of care as a psychotherapist, I request from you the contact details of a next of kin or someone closely related to you. I will only use this contact if I am seriously concerned about your own safety or the safety of another person in relation to you. If this happens, I will endeavour to discuss it with you first.

This being human is a guest house.
Every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes
as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they’re a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house
empty of its furniture,
still, treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out
for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing,
and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent
as a guide from beyond.
